Join our team for off-ice training class!  Off-ice training is important at any level of skating for injury prevention, strength and flexibility for jumps, spins, and power, and proper alignment and technique. This class will help you get more out of your skating practice! We will focus on proper warm-up and cool-down, core strength, flexibility, jump training (plyometrics), and skating-specific exercises to make practice more effective. The class is run by PSA rated coach, National Competitor and Northfield Skating School Director, Carey Tinkelenberg.

 

Materials needed:  Tennis shoes (for ankle support), a towel or yoga mat.

All classes 6:20-6:50 pm Monday evenings before Club ice, meet in the Club room!  Checks made out to Carey Tinkelenberg.

Winter Session:  7 weeks:  11/23, 11/30, 12/7, 12/21, 1/4, 1/11, 1/18  (no class before Holiday Show on 12/14!)

Spring Session:  8 weeks:  1/25, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22

                    $56 (or $8 per walk-in)

Power Class

Offered through the Farmington Skate School, City of Farmington Parks & Recreation Department.  This class will focus on Moves in the Field as well as drills and techniques of basic skating including cross-overs and stroking.  Prerequisite:  Basic 5.

When:  Saturdays 9:30-10:00 am, January 9 - March 13
